Dr. Ronald G. Nahass, President and Co-founder of infectious disease network ID Care, was announced the recipient of the 2020 Watanakunakorn Clinician Award. This prestigious award is presented annually by the Board of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) for outstanding accomplishments in the clinical practice of infectious diseases.
Named to honor the memory of Chatrchai Watanakunakorn, the Watanakunakorn Clinician Award is presented annually to recognize an IDSA member who has spent the majority of his or her career working predominantly in direct patient care. Furthermore, the recipient must show a commitment to excellence in areas such as clinical care, clinical research, patient or community education, compassion, patient advocacy, general community service, and/or service to a national or state infectious diseases society.
“Dr. Watanakunakorn was a model clinician who worked tirelessly to advance the clinical practice of ID,” said Dr. Nahass. “I am really humbled to be included on this list of respected clinicians.”
Dr. Nahass is being recognized for his distinguished service in the field of infectious disease, through which he continues to advance ID Care as a leading infectious disease partner for healthcare organizations across New Jersey. Through ID Care, healthcare organizations can strengthen their access to the most effective prevention methods, accurate diagnostic approaches, and promising state-of-the-art treatments available today.
