Why I’m an infectious disease provider
“I graduated in 2020 and wanted to save the world! I stayed because I love my work family.”
Approach to infectious disease care
Flora Navarro emphasizes the importance of education and ownership in her patient care approach. She believes that when patients and their families understand the reasons behind her treatment choices, whether it’s selecting a specific treatment or asking them to follow certain steps, they are more likely to achieve better outcomes. This understanding not only improves care but also fosters trust, which Flora values in her relationships with patients.
More about Flora Navarro, infectious disease provider
Flora Navarro brings over 15 years of bedside nursing experience to her role, which comes in handy when she is explaining things to both patients and their families. She is approachable and takes her time, meeting them eye to eye, which is always appreciated ensuring they feel informed and comfortable. Flora most likes learning about everything and anything involving the human body. She is proud of the trust she builds with her patients, and it makes her feel good when they express relief when they see her, saying, “Thank God it’s you.”
Flora grew up in the Philippines and was a very sick child and probably shouldn’t be alive, which makes her take things very seriously and makes her proud of what she does. Flora’s personal experiences with limited access to healthcare, which was only attainable by people who had money, shaped her deep empathy and personal understanding of what her patients go through. Outside of work, she enjoys eating all kinds of food and balances this by staying active with regular workouts.
Life-changing results speak for themselves
“Everyone is personable and takes the time to ask how you’re feeling, they’re not just going through the motions. Very happy with their care!”
