“I wanted to become an ID specialist to treat and cure the most complex illnesses. I love putting all the pieces together (objective and subjective data) to come up with the correct diagnosis and individualized treatment plan for each patient. It is so rewarding to see my patients’ conditions improve.”
Approach to infectious disease care
Marissa Parson’s approach to the care and management of each patient is unique. She recognizes that each patient has different health goals and individualizes their treatment plan to meet those goals. She takes the time each day to discuss the plan of care with patients, their families and the interdisciplinary team. Marissa believes that listening and educating her patients are key to empowering them to actively engage in their healthcare, which she views as essential for delivering high-quality care and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Before joining ID Care, Marissa Parson worked as a registered acute care nurse at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, where she was honored with the Nursing Excellence Award for her dedication to compassionate and personalized care. After several years of practice, she continued her education to become an advanced practice nurse. The foundation of her practice combines expertise in medicine and disease with compassion and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Outside of her medical work, Marissa enjoys being with her husband, two sons and dog.
