Why I’m an infectious disease specialist

“I have always been fascinated by science and how the body functions. When I was kid, I remember watching my mother, a medical technologist with her own lab, work the microbiology bench and grew very intrigued on what microorganisms were and the diseases they caused. I guess this curiosity never went away and I always knew I wanted to be a physician. And it was just natural to me to specialize in infectious diseases.”
