Why I’m an infectious disease provider

“I have had the privilege of working in healthcare my entire adult life in many different capacities. Being a nurse has enabled me to see the impacts our healthcare system has on patients. I saw firsthand the rise of infectious diseases related to pathogen devices, such as the Foley catheter, and the development of sepsis. I learned that early detection and treatment of these infections can increase the overall chance of survival and quality of life. This inspired me to pursue a career in infectious disease and directly impact patients’ lives.”
