Hillsborough, October 20, 2025 – ID Care clinicians took on prominent roles at IDWeek 2025, the major annual conference for infectious disease experts from across the globe, which took place October 19–22 in Atlanta, Georgia. This event, organized by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) in partnership with SHEA, HIVMA, PIDS, and SIDP, served as a global platform for sharing innovation, research and clinical practices that enhance patient care and public health. Leadership & Research at IDWeek 2025
Several ID Care clinicians took part in high-profile program roles and presentations at IDWeek 2025:
- Dr. Ronald Nahass was formally installed as IDSA President and presented new HIV research analyzing the safety and effectiveness of a doravirine/islatravir regimen in adults with HIV-1.
- Dr. Fazila Aslam has been appointed to the IDWeek Program Committee and helped shape the scientific agenda.
- Dr. Steve Williams serves on the Practice and Quality Committee and completed the IDSA Leadership Course, highlighting ID Care’s investment in cultivating future leaders in infectious diseases.
- Kathleen “Kathy” Seneca, MSN, APN-BC, CNL represents advanced practice providers as a member of the APP ID Steering Group and its Mentorship Sub-Committee.
- Dr. Theodore “Teddy” Markou served on the committee responsible for selecting distinguished achievements honored at this year’s event.

- Drs. Sukrut Dwivedi, Tahir Farooq, and Syed Zaidi have been named Fellows of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, an honor recognizing sustained excellence and leadership in the field.
- Dr. Ellen Hirsh is advancing equity and inclusion through her work on IDSA advisory panels focusing on women in infectious diseases and compensation.
- Dr. Edward McManus lead a “Meet the Professor” session on wound care, sharing expert clinical insights with a national audience.
