Theodore Markou, MD
Theodore Markou, MD, is an infectious disease correspondent for RT America. In his career, Dr. Markou started the CDAT (C. diff. Attack Team) at Johns Hopkins Hospital and had their findings published in a medical journal. At the age of 14, Dr. Markou was diagnosed with lupus and was amazed by the medical profession — not only intellectually but also from a caring aspect. Now, Dr. Markou is enamored with the dynamic field of infectious disease and finds excitement in tackling the unknown and helping heal patients.
Dr. Markou volunteers at a local jiu-jitsu school for infection prevention to help curb outbreaks such as MRSA. As a former professional dancer, Dr. Markou stays active with CrossFit, weight lifting, and jiu-jitsu. He also enjoys brewing his own alcohol.
