Stephanie Szylar, RN, MSN, APN-C, is a certified adult/gerontology nurse practitioner with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been a nurse practitioner since 2015. Stephanie earned her undergraduate biology degree from Kean University, and a few years later attended Muhlenberg School of Nursing and continued her education at Seton Hall University, earning an MSN in 2015.

Stephanie began her nursing career as a staff nurse in the ICU, then transitioned to a population care coordinator with a family practice physician. After completing her MSN, she worked for several years as a general house nurse practitioner in a subacute/long term care facility. During her tenure there, she gained knowledge of the subacute and long term care settings and built a good foundation of general practice. She realized the impact she could have on decreasing inappropriate use of antibiotics and unnecessary ER visits and found that infectious diseases were a cause or complication of many patient visits, so she decided to continue and specialize in infectious diseases.

When not at work, Stephanie enjoys hiking and managing her busy family of three children, including cheering them on at basketball, soccer, and dance. She also volunteers as a Girl Scout leader and is active with the Cub Scouts.
