ID Care Welcomes Dr. Joseph Kim as the first Chief Medical Officer

ID Care is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Joseph Kim as our first chief medical officer (CMO), effective September 16, 2024.

The CMO replaces the executive vice president role, which was held by Dr. Edward McManus. We thank Dr. McManus for all his years of service and guidance in this role.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Kim | ID Care | New Jersey

As CMO, Dr. Kim will serve as the clinical leader for the entire ID Care organization, working closely with the executive team and management teams to develop and implement strategic policies, plans and procedures. He will lead a culture of quality and safety by working with regional vice presidents and clinical staff to develop and implement standards of clinical excellence and professional performance. In addition, he will oversee education and training initiatives for our clinical teams.

Dr. Kim has been a valued member of ID Care for the past two decades and brings exemplary clinical knowledge as well as compassionate care to his practice. He completed medical school and internal medicine residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick, and infectious disease fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is a respected colleague and member of the New Jersey healthcare community and serves on the ID Care Board of Directors. Dr. Kim is devoted to his family and friends. He loves to spend time with his wife, Sandy, and his two daughters, and is also an avid golfer.

The CMO position is very important for our future as we transform ID Care to an organization that focuses on excellence and continued growth. ID Care is very excited that Dr. Kim has accepted this position. His leadership will help elevate the culture of ID Care and members of the organization to be the “best of the best” of infectious disease practices in New Jersey and beyond.
