Rosario Manalo, MD, holds two leadership roles at Newton Medical Center: Section Chief of Infectious Disease and Director of the Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Center. Dr. Manalo has been published on topics ranging from vaccination in juvenile correctional facilities to STDs and blood cultures – and even had an article presented to the Congress on Healthcare Leadership in 2017.

Dr. Manalo enjoys working with patients and the daily challenges of infectious disease. After spending time in the Philippines, Dr. Manalo was inspired to become a doctor. Since then she has spent time in a large referral center for infectious disease and was a part of a directly observed treatment (DOT) project for tuberculosis. In her free time, Dr. Manalo enjoys drawing, painting, riding horses, and traveling with family.
